No. Each frame fills a common cell using the first frame's aspect ratio, so mixed captures still line up.

Can I remove subtitles from the frames first?

Trim them in the subtitle collage tool, then bring those frames here for a cleaner strip.

Pick the frames that tell the scene, drop them in order, and the strip lines them up at one size with film edges around them.

The frame width controls how large each still appears, and the strip simply gets longer as you add more.
