How it works

  1. 1.Load a table with one row per cause (or category) and how often it happened — defect types, complaint reasons, error codes.
  2. 2.Pick the name and value columns. Names that appear several times are combined first, then everything is sorted from most to least frequent.
  3. 3.Click Generate chart: the bars show the counts, the line shows the running share, and the dashed line marks your cut-off (80% by default).
  4. 4.Read the summary under the chart — it tells you how few categories you have to fix to cover that share. Download the PNG, or raise the cut-off to see what changes.
