PowerPoint cannot really do this. Pasting slides into a template loses placeholders, "Apply Design" no longer exists in the ribbon, and the usual advice is a hundred steps in the slide master. The task is real: a deck written in one design has to come out in the company’s.
This takes the design layer out of the template — masters, layouts, theme, colour and font scheme — puts it into your deck, and points each slide at the layout that matches it: first by layout name, then by placeholder types, and it tells you which slides fell back to the default layout.
