Table to Avro Schema Converter

Paste rows or drop a CSV or Excel file, pick Avro as the output format, and save the schema as a .avsc file next to your data. Every column becomes one field, and the record is named Sheet1.

Types come from the column itself: a numeric column becomes double, everything else becomes string, and every field is nullable with a null default, so rows with empty cells are still valid. Field names have to be plain ASCII, so a column name that is not (Chinese, spaces, punctuation) is written as column_2 and kept verbatim in that field doc.

Table to Markdown

Turn a table into text you can paste: Markdown, HTML, TSV, SQL inserts, JSON, XML, YAML, LaTeX, INI, TOML, JSON Lines or an ASCII table. Nothing is uploaded.

Your data never leaves this browser

The file is parsed, previewed and charted on your own device. Nothing is uploaded — not even a sample. Close the tab and the data is gone.

Or paste table text

How it works

  1. 1.Import the table (Excel, CSV, TSV or JSON, or paste), then pick the output format: Markdown, HTML, SQL INSERT, JSON, XML, YAML, LaTeX, vCard, iCal, pandas and more.
  2. 2.For SQL, set the table name; for vCard and iCal, map which column holds which field — a field you leave empty is simply not written out.
  3. 3.Press Generate and check the result on the right.
  4. 4.Copy it or download it. Rows that cannot become a usable contact or event are skipped rather than written out half-empty.

Frequently asked questions

Where is the data itself?
This output is only the schema: Avro keeps the rows in a separate file, or in a container file that embeds the schema. If you want the rows as JSON, export the same table with the JSON format and hand both to your writer.
Why did some column names change?
Avro field names may only use letters, digits and underscores, and cannot start with a digit, so anything else is replaced. The original column name is still recorded in the doc attribute of that field, so nothing is lost.
