Promotion Letter Template

Promotion letters are read by the employee, by payroll and sometimes by an external HR department verifying the new title. All three need the same two facts.

This template confirms the title and date, explains where the updated responsibilities live, and keeps the congratulations to one sincere sentence.

Choose a letter type and fill in the fields.

These are standard templates in English, not legal advice. Termination and warning letters have legal requirements that differ by country — have them reviewed before you send them.

Frequently asked questions

Is this the same as an internal announcement?
No. This is the letter to the employee. The team announcement is a separate message, and it should not come first.
What about the salary change?
Add it on the key-points line, or pair this with a salary increase letter — the two are often sent together.
